Porting Numbers

Introduction

Porting is the transfer of a number between two telephone service providers on behalf of an end-user. The process involves providing the right documentation to prove ownership of the number as well as coordination between the existing provider and the new provider with regard to the number’s porting date.

Port In
Porting your phone number to MyMedLeads, known as the “port in” process, involves transferring your existing number from your current provider to your MyMedLeads account.
The port in process typically takes 2-4 weeks to complete. During this time, we will work with your current provider to move your number(s) to your MyMedLeads account and provide you with email updates on the status.
Please note that MyMedLeads is currently only able to port in numbers from the continental United States.

You must understand and agree to the following:

  • I will pay standard rates for my phone number and usage after my number ports.
  • I must keep all numbers in service with my current carrier until the port completes to avoid delays or rejections.
  • I must configure my number in MyMedLeads before my number ports.
  • I am responsible for any termination charges imposed by my current carrier for porting my numbers.
  • I may be unable to receive messages for up to 3 business days after the port completes.

Port Out
Porting your phone number away from MyMedLeads to a new provider is a straightforward process. First, you’ll need to submit a request with the carrier you’d like to port your number to. Most carriers will require you to fill out a Letter of Authorization (LOA), which asks for the end user’s full name, the Account SID, and the service address. Once the new carrier has coordinated the port with MyMedLeads, you can expect to receive a notification email from us confirming the number transfer.

PLEASE NOTE: If a client cancels their MyMedLeads service, their phone numbers will be deactivated within 24 hours. Consequently, if the client wishes to reactivate or re-enroll later, they will need to set up completely new phone numbers, as the previous ones cannot be reactivated.
